Inflation Reduction Act

The maximum credit is $7,500 for qualified vehicles with gross vehicle weight ratings (GVWRs) of under 14,000 pounds.

Credit is 30% per mower, with a max of $7,500 per lawn mower. The credit is available for sales made beginning Jan. 1, 2023, and the credit sunsets in 2032. These mowers must be less than 14,000 lbs. and have a battery capacity of not less than 7-kilowatt hours. 

Diesel Emissions Reduction Act (DERA)

The DERA Program offers funding in the form of grants and rebates as well as other support for projects that protect human health and improve air quality by reducing harmful emissions from diesel engines.

Federal Solar Tax Credit

Up to 30% of the cost of applicable Solar System

There are two tax credits available for businesses and other entities like nonprofits and local and tribal governments that purchase solar energy systems (see the Homeowner’s Guide to the Federal Tax Credit for Solar Photovoltaics for information for individuals): 
The investment tax credit (ITC) is a tax credit that reduces the federal income tax liability for a percentage of the cost of a solar system that is installed during the tax year.
The production tax credit (PTC) is a per kilowatt-hour (kWh) tax credit for electricity generated by solar and other qualifying technologies for the first 10 years of a system’s operation. It reduces the federal income tax liability and is adjusted annually for inflation

Provides incentives for professional landscape services in California operated by a small business or sole proprietor. Funds are intended to purchase qualifying zero-emission professional landscape service equipment. CORE does not require scrappage of existing internal combustion engines.

San Joaquin Valley Incentive Program (Clean Green Yard Machines)

Up to $15,000 per mower, capped at $25K

Provides incentives to lawn care providers for the replacement of their existing gas- or diesel-powered landscape maintenance equipment with new electric landscape maintenance equipment.

Antelope Valley AQMD - Carl Moyer Program

Up to $25,000 per mower

The AVAQMD works in partnership with the local communities to achieve and preserve a healthful environment through effective air quality programs by promoting community and individual responsibility for air quality while supporting strong-economic growth throughout the region. The Antelope Valley Air Quality Management District remains committed to enhancing its public outreach and encouraging community engagement in the District's Community Air Protection Program.

Butte County AQMD- Carl Moyer Program

Up to $15,000 per mower

The Carl Moyer Program was established in 1998 as a partnership between the California Air Resources Board (CARB) and local air districts. This grant program provides funding for replacing, repowering, or retrofitting eligible heavy-duty engines with cleaner-than-required technology.

Sacramento Metropolitan AQMD Fall 2022 Community Air Quality Grant

Up to 80% of the cost of the mower

The Sac Metro Air District has over $22 million in mobile source incentive funding to improve air quality and promote cleaner technology in Sacramento. Applicants are encouraged to develop their proposals now to ensure the best possible funding opportunities. The primary purpose of this funding is to promote the use of zero-emission equipment instead of diesel equipment in communities impacted by air pollution, with particular attention to disadvantaged communities. However, applications are accepted for other project categories.

Bay Area AQMD Carl Moyer Off - Road Equipment Program

Up to 90% of the cost of the mower

The Carl Moyer Memorial Air Quality Standards Attainment Program (Carl Moyer Program or CMP) is a state-funded program offering grants to  owners of heavy-duty vehicles and equipment to reduce harmful air pollution from heavy-duty engines. The Bay Area Air Quality Management District (Air District) is NOW ACCEPTING applications for off-road equipment and portable engine projects.

Eastern Kern APCD - Carl Moyer Program

Up to $15,000 per mower

The Carl Moyer Program (CMP) is a grant program that funds the incremental cost of cleaner-than-required heavy-duty diesel equipment that reduces nitrogen oxide (NOx), particulate matter (PM10), and volatile organic compounds (VOC) emissions from diesel-fueled engines. CMP clean air projects involve a wide variety of vehicles and equipment. SCAQMD Incentive Program

Up to $15,000 per mower or 85% Discount (whichever is less)

Improve air quality by exchanging older, polluting gasoline- or diesel-powered commercial lawn and garden equipment for new zero emission, battery electric commercial grade equipment for operation within the South Coast AQMD four county region. Special focus will be given to environmental justice (EJ)or disadvantaged communities.

New Mexico Clean Diesel Program

New Mexico Environment Department provides grant funding through the New Mexico Clean Diesel Program, for projects that reduce harmful heavy-duty diesel emissions. This program is funded by EPA through DERA. NMED is soliciting proposals for DERA projects that effectively reduce these emissions from heavy-duty diesel-fueled vehicles and equipment.

Oregon Diesel Emission Mitigation Grant Program

Up to 25 - 100% of the cost of the mower

The Oregon Department of Environmental Quality is providing approximately $8 million in grant funding every year for five years, starting in 2021. Revenue for this program is provided by the Environmental Mitigation Trust Fund, subject to the settlement agreement between the United States and Volkswagen Group of America, Inc. In 2019, the Oregon Legislature authorized the creation of a grant program supporting businesses, governments and equipment owners in replacing older and more polluting diesel engines with new, cleaner technologies and exhaust control retrofits. These grants will be disbursed to awardees as a reimbursement of eligible project costs incurred during the project period.

Burlington Electric Department Incentive Program

Burlington Electric Department is offering $3,500 for the purchase of a new commercial-grade lawn mower. Rebates are limited to specific models.

Vermont Electric Coop Incentive Program

$1,000

VEC offers a bill credit of $1,000 for qualifying commercial electric lawnmowers used by a lawn care business, state agency, or institution with a campus such as a hospital or a university (other end-users will be considered on a case-by-case basis). Some models automatically qualify for this incentive, other models will be considered on a case-by-case basis and must receive pre-approval from VEC.

Vermont Public Power Supply Authority

$1,200 for an electric lawn mower used for commercial purposes.

Rebates are available for commmercial lawn mowers to customers of the following utilities: Barton Village, Village of Enosburg Falls, Hardwick Electric Dept., Village of Johnson, Village of Jacksonville, Ludlow Electric Light Dept., Lyndonville Electric Dept., Morrisville Water & Light Dept., Northfield Electric Dept., Village of Orleans, or Swanton Village. Lawn mower must be charged in your electric utility's service territory. Lawn mower must be used for commercial purposes.
